Welcome to our 27th Swiss HLG Conference!
Dear Members and Friends of the Swiss HLG,
The Life sciences industry has always been built firmly on partnerships - be it licensing of molecules, partnering with academia or establishing JVs for all kinds of purposes. However, over recent years, the industry has experienced a frenetic increase of partnering activity in volume, value, and type. While 2016 saw an overall lower level of M&A or Licensing, other collaborations such as late stage partnerships increased by 20%. We also observed the trend to apply alternative deal structures such as option-based agreements. These trends are underlined by a change in the overall partnering environment as we have experienced in the past:
Is there a need to Reset Partnering?
During two and a half days, broken down into three streams, the Swiss HLG 2018 Winter Conference will focus on debating which of our approaches are still working well and where we need to step out of the box and to expand our tool set and methodologies.
Through first hand case studies we will explore:
- How other industries, such as luxury or consumer goods, rely strongly on partnerships?
- Are there new tricks to be learned from other industries, adjacent or completely separate from Life sciences?
- How do Licensing, Business Development and Partnering leaders peruse the right deal?
- How to establish partnerships that go beyond the molecule?
Join us on Sunday afternoon for the opening keynote delivered by Jean-Paul Clozel, who founded Actelion and successfully sold his company to Johnson & Johnson in 2017, in a large M&A deal.
Discover our exciting programme which will be available on this website and completed regularly over the next weeks with new confirmed speakers, their abstracts and bios.
We are looking to welcoming you at the 2018 Swiss HLG Winter Conference in the stunning scenery of the Swiss Alps and together taking a step out of the box!
